Dear Blog, I'm sorry I've been neglecting you. Won't happen again. Love, Me.

As I sit here in my dorm listening to a strange combination of new music I bought from iTunes, I realized that my blog was lacking in attention.
There's been some other revelations as of late here:

1. I am officially 19. I don't really feel older, but I guess I am.. or something. I also feel very loved because my facebook is currently filled with people writing on my wall "Happy Birthday!!" and such like.

2. I looked at my previous entry and faintly remembered that I was formally going to write more on it, but totally forget now what I was going to write in the first place. So it was probably something along the lines of "We got a lot of snow, I love my Ithaca friends, and I'm sleepy and will go to bed now"

3. I really like exercising now. I do it almost every day, but Mondays and Thursdays are especially fun because a few of us usually go kickboxing and it's pretty intense but it always makes you feel really good after. I also found four further things:
1. I needed a sports bra. I got two at Target for 8 dollars. Horray for deals!
2. I lost weight, and can now fit successfully into a size 4
3. I'm a lot more energetic/ feel better all around.
4. Also found some really cool songs thanks to the mix in kickboxing that the leader plays. My favourite is "Soccer Practice" by Gay Pimp. Funny song.

4. I like my classes, for the most part (the work part is not so fun). Mon/ Wed/ Fri I have American Literature, Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe, and Media Literacy. On Tues/ Thurs I have Global Studies and Aging Studies. American Lit has a really cool teacher, but there's also this guy Edgar in my class who thinks he knows everything but he's waayyy off. Like for instance, we're reading Huck Finn, right? And everyone knows that the whole book is basically making fun of Southern hospitality, and the "King" and "Duke" are con men. But poor Edgar, he thinks the "King" and "Duke" are good people, and will wind up heros. He's in for a big surprise. But moving on, I love my Stars class because it's really chill, and the teacher is awesome but sometimes the big class size is not so helpful. Media Literacy has the same teacher as I had last semester in my Psych class. She's awesome. In Global Studies, we're reading A Thousand Splendid Suns, and it's a super amazing book that you all need to read. Awesome class. Aging class is cool too, the teacher is very bubbily and cute, and she gets everyone into it.

5. (Which I should have mentioned before but didn't) I totally forgot to write anything about my winter break. So instead of writing more of a novel then I intend to, I'm just gonna sum it up: Worked at Regal again, lots of fun times and boring ones too, the not so cool part of it was getting my car side-swiped while I was in work. Granted, it was foggy and you couldn't see but really, the person could have left a note. Oh well. Hung out with K-bo the most, of course. Also saw Amke, Kim (well her I work with, so that was fun), Becky, Catherine, Jaime, and visited HHS and hugged all my Guildians and talked to my fav teachers (Jones and Weiss, mostly). Saw Benjamin Button, Milk, Nothing But the Holidays, and Seven Pounds.

6. My birthday weekend was lots of fun. On Friday, we went downtown to Lost Dog (our favourite restaurant) and had some really good food. I had something called a Vooda-Ahi Burger but instead of meat, I had tofu. It was spicy and glorious and the mac and cheese on the side just made it all the much better. We ordered dessert and I had my favourite- The Geshia, it's cheesecake slices in a toasted crust with raspberry over it. SOO GOODDD. After we went back to our rooms and changed into dancing clothes and then Mara and Christina called and said they had to make us look all pretty. So Amelia, Hinzy, and I went over to Towers and Mara styled my hair and Hinzy did my makeup. We met the boys and went to the gay club, Oasis. It was a little dull at first coz there wasn't a lot of people there but it got a lot busier and was much better. We all danced our little hearts out. Good times. On Saturday, we hung in Chris' room and watched Zoolander, played Apples to Apples and a few other games, and hung out. On Sunday, we watched the Super Bowl in Emerson (really big room with TVs). Until we got a little bored and it became much more crowded, then we went back to do homework and after that, Amelia and I ran to East Tower to catch the rest of the game with Mara, Christina, and Chris and watch the hour-long Office after it. It was a pretty epic ending, with the really long field goal. But The Office, that was one of THE funniest episodes ever we all laughed so hard, and sighed at Jim's proclamation of love and then went home. On Monday (my actual birthday) me and Chris went kickboxing and then we went to late night at Towers. I was happy to learn that this also meant that breakfast foods were being served. SCOORREE. I also brought the cake Mom sent via a birthday box (Harry and David) and after we ate and talked a little, we feasted on the cake. It was reaaallllyyy good. Just the thing to kick my chocolate craving for the day, and it had gotten a little warm because the plates were warm. With milk and my friends, it was a good day. After dinner and cake, we went to Chris and Geoff's room and Chris had a present for me- my own "song"! Well, he used Britney Spears' song "Gimme More" and put things about me into it. It was really funny and sweet. All the good ones have to be gay...

7. I have the coolest friends ever. Mara made me a card with The Doctor and me on it, it's so cool. Christina and Hinzy each made me a card too- Christina's was a simple little yellow card but a nice little message on the inside, Hinzy used her knowledge of Japanese and awesome personality to make me a super-cool card. And I got one from my roomie, Amelia too, it's a really cool Beatles card (we both love them) and she also got me Truffle candy at Target. Dangerous Amelia, dangerous. Geoff also made me one where he attempted to draw a character from Doctor Who. And you heard about Chris'. :)

8. I am sleepy and should do work for tomorrow. I will leave you with some pretty pictures from the weekend :) Actually, I'll do it on another post..

la la lovin the snow

So since I'm in the library right about now, while my group works on the last of our project. Since I did most of the work, I don't really feel bad about doing this right now.
Last weekend we mostly stayed indoors. On
Friday, Geoff and Chris, Mara and Christina, and Amelia and I had a door decoration contest for our doors. I'm pretty sure we won.
Our Door:

Geoff and Chris' door:

Mara and Christina's Door:
(which disappeared? WHAATT?)

Yah, ours is awesome. I drew all of it. XD

On Saturday, we went to Cosmic Revolution, a IC After Dark event where we danced, made our own t-shirts, and I got an airbrush tattoo of a unicorn on my arm, but unfortunately it washed off. Quite depressing.  But on Thursday, it snowed and it was awwessomme. We played in the snow and had oodles of fun doing so

coz I kept forgetting to update.. here's a long blog.

Copy from my xanga, this happened about the 17th..:
So.. I guess you could say I'm fucking confused. And depressed. And feel like a complete failure. Which has me on the verge of crying. And not knowing what it means. Here's the deal: I handed in what I thought my poetry essay that I spend obnoxious amounts of time on, excited to get at least a B or something. Yeah... Well when he handed it back, all I saw was the "Let's Talk" on the top and then I flipped though and they're weren't many comments so I thought it was something small. So I went up to him after class and I asked what he wanted to talk about and he said to meet him in his office. Ok, whatever. I should have known something bad was going down. So after French I went to his office and sat down and he asked if I used sources. Well, of course I did, so I was like "Yeah, a couple, just for reference" and then he processed to tell me that I had plagiarized. I was like WHAT? No, I didn't unless.. *looks at paper* SHIT. It was the wrong one. You see, my writing process uses random shit and then compiles it all together in an awesome paper, which means lots of rough drafts are chilling on my computer. And I accidently printed the rough draft which looks similar to the final copy, thinking it was the good version. But.. it wasn't.. So he hands me this piece of paper acknowledging that I failed the course and asks me to read and sign it. I was dazed like WHATWHYDIDTHISHAPPEN but tried to explain it was the rough copy but he said "Well, what you handed in is what you handed in, I'm sorry." And basically all I could say was "Ok?" and I signed the paper and left. So here's where I got confused: Can I do nothing else to fix it? Do I even need to come to class anymore? REALLYYYY DAIVD KRAMER?! Can I rewrite it? How do I retake classes? WHAT IF I GET HIM AGAIN?!?!! I wanna ask him if there is ANY possible way to redo or hand my final copy in but I don't think he'll do it. Plus I'm feeling sad, bitchy, and confused. And I don't even know where to begin on that letter. Or do it in person? I dunno. I'm a mess. I need the Doctor.

Update: Basically, even if I didn't mean to plagiarize, the act of handing in paper that did means it's still a felony. The Judicial Board guy I emailed about the whole situation told me we could bring it to the "court" to fight it but I figured if I can't prove it was done before the due date (I edited it on the Monday when I got back, so that was out of the question) I thought "Well, that's kinda pointless.." I'm gonna meet with my advisor and ask if I should be going to this class (my prof said it was up to me, but what's the point of doing work if I'm just gonna fail?). And I'm on academic probation till the end of the year. Which means I can't fail. Ever. Till the end of year. No worries on that..
So yah, that's what's going on right now. I'm relatively cool with the situation, except for the fact that I hatehatehate failing.. The fact that I plagerized doesn't go on the final transcript, only the F does. I guess I can just say it was a bad class and I'm a first year freshman.. stuff like that.
Sigh. Whatever. I'm done with that class. Really. I didn't hate the guy, but he wasn't the most interesting class ever. There is the really hot guy, Max that was in it.. Oh I shall miss him.
My other classes are fine, I can finally focus on French and Psych, because those are my two hardest classes. Well, not hard.. just a lot of work..

Moving on, the weekend before Thanksgiving our whole crew had a get-together. We played Celebrities, ordered food, drew our Secret Santa and talked. It was a good time. After Hinzy and Brandie went to see Twilight, Mara, Christina, Chris, Geoff, and I went to Chris and Geoff's room and made warm delights and listened to Christmas music. It made me want the Doctor. Coz the best thing about Christmas is definitely the Christmas special.

Yah. It looks amazing.

So Thanksgiving Break was nice. Mom came up on Friday and we got my new lamp together and checked into her hotel.. Where there was totally two beds a flat screen TV. I needed TV. I don't have one up here, the only one I watch is the one in the lunge which gets like 5 channels, 3 of them are fuzzy and hard to see. It's reaaalllyy annoying. So needless to say I don't watch TV much up here, and what I do watch is mostly all online. Luckily, I am a master of online TV watching so it's not too bad. But you don't know how empowering channel surfing and cable is. It's amazing guys. Really. After we checked into the hotel, we came back to the dorms to pick up my friend Chris from Colorado (who was going home with us, to his great aunt and uncle in Springfield, which is really close). So while Chris was getting his hair cut, me and mommy went to browse the stores. I got a scarf, hat, and cool gloves. And I was very warm and happy. And fashionable. After Chris was done, we went a few more stores, mostly in the used book shop and Ten Thousand Villages. After that, we went to Lost Dog and had ourselves a glorious dinner. I had a Tofu Southwest.. something or other. Basically corn, beans, southwestren seasoning, all that good stuff. After dinner, me and mom shared a pear and berry crumble. It was really good.. like everything at Lost Dog.
So we got home around 4, after dropping off Julie Orlando and Chris at his great aunt and uncle's and having a chat with them. Pretty much right when I got home K-bo and Maeve picked me up and we went to Shogun where we sat and ate chinese and japanese food for a good 2 hours. After dropping off Maeve, me and K-bo went to see Twilight. It was actually pretty good. Except I don't like Robert Pattinson.. not attractive to me and I saw an interview with him.. and he's not really that nice.. Soo.. yeah. We basically made fun of a lot of it. Otherwise, it was pretty good in the movie department. On Sunday, I sat and watched tv.. mostly the Hallmark channel.. coz they have the best holiday movies ever. On Tuesday, I went with Kim to see Quantum of Solace. Yah, it was awesome. Daniel Craig is hotttttt. On Wednesday Kim and K-bo came over and we made green cupcakes with green icing. Coz green was the only colour they had at Superfresh. On Turkey Day, my grandpa came over and we had a good thanksgiving meal. I had a tofu burger, stuffing, potatoes, cranberries, and green beans. Not to metion as well, the pumpkin pie that I helped to make.
On Friday, the whole familiy went to buy toys for underprivliged kids for an origaniztion we had at chruch and on Saturday, me and dad watched Get Smart. me and mom watched The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (intense and hard to watch, it was really good though), and all of us watched Indy and The Aliens.. I mean.. the crystal skull..
Sunday I came back, and now I really had no want to work. Like.. at all...

OBAMA IS GORGES.

So Amelia, Chris, Mara, Christina, Geoff, Hinzy, and Brandie were all avidly watching the news about who was to be the next president and when Ohio rocked the Barack, we all basically knew it was over. Trying depirtly to find Fox news, we missed Obama winning California so when we turned back to the news we all were extremly confused, excited, and I hopped on CNN to double check. Low and behold:
HE WON CALIFORNIA, OREGON, AND WASHINGTON!!! OBAMAA WONNNNNN!!!!!.
Basically, Ithaca went crazy. AND WE WERE CRAZY RIGHT BACK! We ran outside jumping a screaming, many people joined us and eventually we became this large mass.. We shouted with joy, chanted OBAMA! OBAMA!, CHANGE! CHANGE!, and got in the national anthem and a few other celebratory songs. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. I had no voice after. TOTALLY WORTH IT.
aww yeaahh.

Tales of the Scooby Gang

So this weekend was obviously Halloween weekend which meant obviously dressing up. This year me and my friends dressed up as the gang from Scooby Doo plus Hinzy, Amelia, and Brandie (Hinzy's rommie) dressed us as other things but they became our "villains". We even made our own cardboard Mystery Machine. It was AWESSOOMEE. First I'll show you some pictures:

So yeah.. we were a really big hit all day separately but when we went to Geoff and Chris' room and finished the Mystery Machine and then walked around, everyone complimented us on the awesomeness of our costumes. Juniors and Seniors were coming up to us and saying that it was the best "group" costume they'd seen in awhile. We were all sort of like "Mm, yes, we know" at the end. I'm not sure if you can see, but Christina (Scooby) was actually wearing a Scooby raincoat. It was pretty hardcore. After dinner Christina had to go to a music concert (music kid have a lot to do here!) so we waited for here by going  to the IC After Dark Terror Tour which was kind of lame at the beginning but after half an hour, they played music that we could actually dance to. Which of course we did.
Here's a picture of us dancing to Bye, Bye, Bye by NSync. Coz we're awesome like that. Sorry Amelia, I believe I cut off you face there.

And more pics from IC After Dark..

Captain Jack and.. others.. Actually, this Capt. Jack was a girl, which was pretty bitchin'.
So after Christina got back, we entered the costume contest which was really fun, we posed up on stage with the Mystery Machine and had Amelia "chasing" us. It was sweet.
We had pretty good competition: The Cap. Jack girl, a guy dressed up as Hellboy, and the Tin-Girl from Wizard of Oz. But by ONE POINT, we won against the Tin Girl!!! WHOOOP!! We got Saw and Saw II, gift cards to Regal, and popcorn bags. Not sure how we're gonna divide it, but it's all good.
After all that fun, we went to Common Ground, which is a gay bar near campus (but it's closing soon :( ) It was oodles of fun!! But I'm really sore now..
